During my time at CUNY, I served as PI on grants totaling nearly $2.9M, including a two-week NEH Summer Seminar for K-12 educators titled "Asian Americans in New York: Film & Literature," as well a five-year $2.7M grant awarded by the Department of Education for Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) for HCAP (Hunter College AANAPISI Project). I also served as co-Director on another NEH-funded grant project at Borough of Manhattan Community College, "Building Asian American Studies across the Community College Classrooms." I am very proud of all these grant projects, especially HCAP, the ongoing AANAPISI program at Hunter College, which provides evidence-based programs to provide academic support to low-income Asian American college students who are also English language learners.
